Excel Function: TEXTJOIN vs. CONCATENATE

Excel experts always avoid using this function, and you should too!

If you have to combine multiple values into one column don’t use the function equals CONCATENATE.

It takes too long because you have to manually type out each delimiter one at a time.

Instead you can just use the function =TEXTJOIN!

Here’s how: first type =TEXTJOIN, then for your first argument you’re going to type your delimiter.

Ours would be a comma and a space so we’ll type that in quotes, and then for the next argument we’ll type a true to avoid our blank cells.

Then for the last argument, go ahead and select a row by pressing control shift right arrow, close it off, press enter and then double click your fill handle and that’s it… much faster!
